Coyote Meadows Goes Green

A small group of people visited Coyote Meadows one month after the Coyote Creek flood. It was so green and clean! Most of the trash was washed downstream, sadly, but much of the area was scoured clean from the rush of water.

The grasses were high and green, new shoots appeared on the trees, and some plum trees were blooming. We were able to see how this space might be used in the future.

We are now officially working on our Coyote Meadows Community Planning and Stewardship process. We will be hosting stakeholder and community meetings as we work together for a shared vision of low-impact activities for this area.

At the end of our walk, we found this fuzzy caterpillar. What a great way to end the day.

This project was funded in part by the Measure Q Urban Open Space Grant Program of the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority.
